Letting children breathe, smile, and fly with Butterfly Kids Yoga

Hello friends! Please let me introduce you to Butterfly Kids Yoga, Rochester NY's new children's yoga practice.

My name is Allison Picciano ("Miss Ali" for the kids) and I'd like to share with you my story of how Butterfly Kids Yoga was born. As a mom of three young and active children, I look for engaging, fun, and dynamic activities where my children can laugh and smile, burn some energy, and put simply – “just have fun and be a kid”. But, equally important, I also look for activities that reinforce healthy living, that allow my children to be creative & use their imaginations, and for activities to help bring peacefulness and a sense of calm to them. I try (like everyone, right?) to bring as much balance to my children’s lives through school activities, music, sports, friends, healthy choices...and the list goes on! Yet, as I'm sure many of you can relate, finding this balance can be very challenging.

I founded Butterfly Kids Yoga with a goal of helping to create that balanced activity  --  an activity where children can exercise, have fun, but also experience creativity, imagination, and mindfulness. An activity that compliments my children’s sporting activities, that helps them in school, and that gives them an outlet to have fun while also demonstrating the importance of healthy living. And finally, an activity that I can also enjoy with my children.

I am very excited to turn this vision into a reality with Butterfly Kids Yoga.

Children's yoga should be fun, energizing, and at times even silly. Lots of laughs and giggles are at the core of all of my classes. I combine this playfulness with calm, mindful moments, and my goal is for your child to walk away from each class stronger and with a sense of peacefulness. As a trained and certified children's yoga instructor through the international “Kidding Around Yoga” program, I am here to create an environment where every little yogi can find their own balance.

I am excited to positively impact children and to give them the tools to breathe, smile, and fly!

Namaste,

"Miss Ali"
