Online: Tree Pose, Dancer Pose, and Yoga Makes Me Strong!

I’m so happy to see such great support for our at-home Movement Breaks. Whether your kids are taking advantage of them from home, or your school has shared to students, or you’ve shared our link personally — thank you so much. Until we can be together again, I’m glad the kids can enjoy yoga from home!

There are two new Movement Breaks available now. Enjoy!

Yoga visits the jungle + Half-moon balance flow

I hope you are enjoying time outside with these warmer temps! I know that we are coming off a difficult week as we received word of NY schools closing for the rest of the year. Big emotions, to say the least, as we are all navigating this together.

So this week, I chose to add 2 new Movement Breaks that are active and uplifting — I hope they bring you and your kids smiles and an outlet to release those emotions. Enjoy!

Stretches for athletes + movements for kids

Stretches for athletes + movements for kids

This week, I’m recognizing that our kid’s moods, emotions and energy will vary by the day (well, by the HOUR sometimes) as we all continue to navigate through these challenging times. My goal is to keep adding to the collection of Butterfly Kids Yoga movement breaks so that you have choices.

Different ways to keep kids moving, build strength, find calm, stretch it out, or simply shift their energy.

There are 2 new movement breaks for you to enjoy this week:

1. Sargent Salutations — a fun call / repeat sequence to get kids moving (all ages)
2. Pigeon Pose Stretches — great for athletes or anyone looking to move and stretch!

Enjoy!

New movement breaks! Strong warriors + a fun family game.

New movement breaks! Strong warriors + a fun family game.

I hope you are safe, healthy and remaining strong. I chose this word, “strong”, as the theme for one of this week’s Butterfly Movement Breaks. To me, it represents our resiliency, our determination to get through this time — and come out stronger together.

So with that, I’ve added 2 new movement breaks for this week:

1. Strong Warriors — strengthen, move and focus (all ages)
2. Love it, Like it, Leave it — a fun family yoga game!

Several people have asked if it is OK to share these movement breaks. Yes! Please share with your child’s school, teachers, sports teams, among friends — or with any group you think can use it. Enjoy!

Yoga camp update

Yoga camp update

I realize that while we are all trying to find balance and establish new routines during this time, questions about summer camps may also be top of mind.

As of now, both the July Mid-Summer Yoga Camp and our August Back to School Yoga Camp are still planned to happen. But with the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, registration for both camps has been postponed to Monday, May 11th. This follows the lead of Victor Rec, where our July yoga camp is held, and I feel will give us (hopefully) more clarity on what the entire summer will hold.
