This weekend, I was part of a fantastic yoga training in Dover, NH. I am writing to you tonight FULL of inspiration, tips, tools, and so much more that I will be bringing back to share with the Butterfly Kids Yoga community. From preschool to teen, I can’t wait to share all that I took in this weekend.
Our (abbreviated) weekly schedule is below along with a Spotlight on Upcoming Events and a new Yoga Tip for you to try at home (look for a new one each week).
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope everyone has a great holiday with family and friends.
YOGA TIP: Did you know that breathing with a longer exhale decreases anxiety and helps children when upset? Try this: “Bumble Bee Breath” (for little ones). Inhale deeply through your nose. Keep your mouth closed and exhale and hum (like a bumble bee) for as long as possible. “HMMMMMM.” Now, have your child cover their ears and try again. This creates an inward focus, helping to ground and center children. And for the older kids? Same technique, but we call it “Extended Exhale Breath”.

- Ages 5-12 studio class @ 6:00pm (Fairport). Enroll here.
- Adult class with Christy Lesher @ 6:00pm (Fairport). Enroll here.
- Preschool enrichment (Brighton, Kids First) @ 10am and 11am.
