When it comes to a good challenge in yoga, kids are ALL about it. Teens? Crow pose or working on their flexibility and mobility. Tweens? Partner poses are their jam. Double downward dog, anyone? Little yogis? Balancing in boat, flower or crane pose. But the most challenging pose of all? It's the simplicity of unwinding. Of just allowing themselves to lie back, relax, and let go.

I heard something yesterday that really made me pause and reflect. It was during a Yoga for Athletes session with 15 strong and talented teens. I was teaching alongside Heidi, my fellow teen instructor, and she found the perfect words.

Building strength (plus upcoming schedule)

What a great week! Our focus this week was on strength. And, boy oh boy, are the kids S T R O N G. Whether it was at Friday Night Yoga Club, our Girls on the Run yoga session, at the Rec Center, or in regular studio classes, I saw smiles from ear to ear. I heard many, "Look at this!" moments. And I felt self confidence building.
